The UPro Real-time PCR Porcine Detection Kit is a product developed by PT Prodia Diagnostic Line in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Padjadjaran. This PCR reagent kit is specifically designed to detect porcine DNA, including domestic pig, wild boar, and other porcine species, in food and pharmaceutical samples.
- The test is based on real-time PCR, eliminating the need for electrophoresis (endpoint analysis).
- The test offers high specificity and sensitivity, allowing for the detection of even trace amounts of porcine DNA contaminants.
- The testing process and result interpretation are quick and real-time.
- The multiplex test specifically detects porcine and wild boar DNA, complemented by an internal control designed to detect mammalian and avian DNA.
The testing principle is based on PCR amplification of unique species-specific sequences found exclusively in the genome of domestic pigs and wild boars. Bioinformatics analysis followed by precise primer design ensures the simultaneous detection of all strains while excluding other species. Additionally, the short amplicon size (~100 bp) addresses DNA degradation issues, thereby minimizing the risk of false negatives. The detection system in this kit employs a FAM® probe for the target DNA and VIC/HEX® for the internal control.
Store the kit at -20°C, minimizing freeze-thaw cycles to preserve reagent integrity. For extended storage and to avoid contamination, it is advisable to aliquot the kit components. The kit remains stable up to the expiration date stated on the packaging.
