Supplementary reagent for quantitative in vitro determination of ASAT (GOT) and ALAT (GPT) in human serum or heparin plasma on automated photometric systems.
Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (PLP) is the primary cofactor for the enzymes AST and ALT, which catalyze transamination reactions. PLP forms a transient complex with amino acids (such as aspartate), facilitating the transfer of the amino group to α-ketoglutarate, resulting in the formation of glutamate and oxaloacetate. This reaction is essential in amino acid metabolism
IFCC method/DGKC standard method.
- Ready-to-use liquid reagent (open-system) without reconstitution.
