Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBt)
Product Description
BPRO Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBt) is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay test used for the qualitative detection of hemoglobin (Hb) in human feces as an early screening tool for colorectal cancer (colon and rectum).
FOB (Fecal Occult Blood) refers to the presence of blood in stool/feces that is not visible to the naked eye. It can be an early clinical symptom of malignant tumors, gastric cancer, colon cancer, colorectal cancer, or an indicator of enteric ulcers. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers among men in Indonesia, with the number of cases reaching 30,017, equivalent to 8.6% (Globocan, 2018).
BPRO FOBt (Fecal Occult Blood Test) is used as a qualitative in vitro diagnostic screening test to detect the presence of hemoglobin (Hb) contained in blood within stool/fecal samples. The working principle of BPRO FOBt is that the sample, after being mixed with a buffer solution, reacts with anti-hemoglobin antibodies on the test line of the cassette through a chromatographic process, producing a precise and visually interpretable test result.
