PROLINE HDL Precipitant
A diagnostic reagent for the quantitative examination of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in human serum, heparin plasma, or EDTA plasma in vitro using a photometric system.
HDL precipitant is an auxiliary reagent used with a cholesterol reagent to measure HDL levels in a sample. Chylomicrons, VLDL, and LDL are precipitated using phosphotungstic acid and magnesium ions. After centrifugation, the remaining supernatant contains HDL, which is then enzymatically analyzed.
Mix 200 µL of the sample with 500 µL of HDL precipitant reagent and incubate for 15 minutes at room temperature. After incubation, centrifuge the mixture for 20 minutes at 2500 g. Once centrifugation is complete, take 100 µL of the supernatant and mix it with 1000 µL of the cholesterol reagent. Incubate for another 10 minutes, then measure the result using an analyzer.
The precipitation of chylomicrons (VLDL and LDL) is achieved by adding phosphotungstic acid and magnesium ions to the sample. HDL Precipitant reagent is used in conjunction with the Cholesterol reagent.
