Magnesium XL FS
Magnesium deficiency is a fairly common disorder, caused by malnutrition, malabsorption, kidney loss and endocrine disorders. Complications related to decreased magnesium concentration are neuromuscular irritability (eg tremor, seizures) and cardiac symptoms (eg tachycardia, arrhythmia). Decreased magnesium concentration is often associated with decreased levels of calcium and potassium, hypomagnesaemia may be a major cause of hypocalcemia. Elevated magnesium values can be observed during dehydration, renal impairment and after excessive consumption of antacids and can be associated with weakened reflexes and lower blood pressure [1,2].

- Determination of the photometric endpoint with xylidyl blue.
- No interference: ascorbic acid 30 mg/dL, bilirubin 40 mg/dL, lipemia to triglycerides 2000mg/dL, and calcium 25 mg/dL
- Measurement linearity reached 5 mg/dL , with a lower limit of detection of 0.05 mg/dL
